Welcome Learners


Welcome Learners, to this online Pilates Teacher Training course. During this difficult time when millions of us around the world are caring for our communities by social distancing and working and learning from home, Fitness Arts and the Arizona Pilates Academy has created this course to help you achieve your fitness learning goals from home. We hope that you find this learning platform more flexible than learning in face-to-face environments. In this course, you will be able to move at your own pace and review the material that is difficult for you as many times as you need or skip things that you already know or have previously mastered.

If you do not have a background in anatomy, exercise physiology or kinesiology, this course will probably take the full 300 hours (or longer) to learn, digest, practice and teach the material. Medical or fitness professionals will probably take less time to complete this course. Either way, the Zoom calls, videos, emails and written and practical work/exams are designed to give you a very full understanding of the work. A thorough understanding of Pilates philosophy and exercises will come in the years ahead as you practice and teach the work.

TThe series of modules introduces you to the foundations of exercise in general and Pilates in specific. This is the “Knowledge” part. You must complete Module 1 before moving on to any of the other modules. Make sure to download the Pilates packets, manuals and tests that are associated with each module before watching the videos. Once you know and understand the information gleaned from Module 1, you will be able to move into the actual practice of both experiencing and teaching the work. This is the “Doing” part, and where we interact on Zoom calls with any questions that you may have.

Even though this is a great deal of information, I have found it best to just start. My favorite quote is from Goethe, “Whatever you can do or dream you can do, Begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!
